Chinese export Barber's bowl, 18th century, circa 1790
Of oval shape with inset made for the European market, very finely painted in the Imari palette with seeded pomegranites, peonies, and other flowers. Underglaze decoration in blue, orange and pink picked out in gilt; to the reverse, raised oval foot rim with 2 small holes, this would have been used for hanging the bowl in between use. 35cms
Condition - Excellent - very minor fritting to corner edge of inset rim. No restoration or repair
