A Worcester Fluted Teabowl, Circa 1770.

The 'Scarlet Japan' pattern, painted and gilt, attractivley decorated and well painted in bright colours.The 'Scarlet Japan' pattern, derived from Chinese porcelain utilising Japanese motifs. There are many variations of this popular design which stayed in production for at least twenty-five years; from the middle 1760s until the late 1780s. Over this period there were many changes to the standard pattern, and also to the shades of orange, (Teabowl with the square or fret mark, painted in underglazed blue to base) ( see example).

Condition - excellent conditon, minor wear. No restoration or repair
