Polychrome globular teapot decorated
with the 'Chinese Family'pattern, the cover with chinese figures,spout
with flower sprays,
Great quantities of Chinese porcelain were being imported into Britain
around this period as demand was high. The design and colours were
exciting and interesting to the general public that had never seen
a Chinese man, this teapot shows Chinese family seen and would have
represented a sence of social history to the untraveld British public,
factories in Britian had to adapt to compete and started to design
oriental styles of there own, 15cms.
Condition - minor wear chip to
cover edge. No restoration or repair
